Dear Church,
The event of Mr. Joshua Mhlakela proclaiming that the Lord Jesus would come during the Feast of Trumpets 2025 created an unprecedented phenomenon. Suddenly, thousands of people shared online that the Lord Jesus had revealed to them in dreams or visions, confirming that Mr. Joshua’s proclamation was true. There were also many video testimonies of children and adults dreaming that they and their families were taken up on the day of the Lord’s coming. Even within our Church in Vietnam, some children also had dreams of being taken up.
There is something strange to me. After September 24, 2025, when the Lord Jesus Christ did not come to take the Church out of the world, according to Mr. Joshua’s prophecy, those videos confirming his prophecy no longer appeared on YouTube. Instead, there appeared videos criticizing or mocking him and mocking those who believed his words. I see that YouTube is very quick in grasping and following the taste of its users.
As God’s people, I fully trust in the Word of God, the Holy Bible. I am certain that the Lord Jesus Christ will come to take the Church out of the world before the Time of the End. He could come at any moment. I believe that no one knows the day or hour of the Lord Jesus’ coming, but God’s people can compare the Word of God with current events to understand the time frame of His coming. And we are living right in that time frame. God’s people can know that the day of the Lord’s coming is near because they recognize the time of His coming through the signs He has foretold. Therefore, the Holy Spirit has given God’s people counsel, which is also a command, in Hebrews 10:25:
“not abandoning our own meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”
This gathering is precisely the gathering of God’s people on the Lord’s holy Sabbath. Throughout the Bible, there is no instruction from the Lord for His people to gather on any day other than the weekly Sabbath Saturdays or the Sabbaths during the festival periods. Therefore, do not neglect the gathering that the Holy Spirit has counseled and commanded us to observe.
God’s true people can “see” the day of the Lord’s coming drawing near if they watch and observe the signs revealed in the prophetic words concerning the Lord’s coming to the Church.
God’s true people must live in a posture of daily anticipation for the Lord’s coming, ready to go with Him at any moment. When there are signs indicating a very high probability that the Lord will return on a certain day, God’s people should prepare to welcome Him on that day. There is nothing wrong with this, because the Lord Himself commands His people to watch for His coming.
“Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour[fn] your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” (Matthew 24:42-44)
“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour[fn] in which the Son of Man is coming.” (Matthew 25:13)
“Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning—” (Mark 13:35)
“Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” (Luke 12:40)
“Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:36)
“Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.” (1 Thessalonians 5:6).
“Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.” (Revelation 3:3).
“Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” (Revelation 16:15).
From the very beginning, the Church was taught by the Lord Jesus and the apostles to watch for the coming of the Lord Jesus to take the Church out of the world. In particular, Luke 21:36 instructs God’s people to watch and pray in every season. This implies that God’s people in the Church, at any time, should watch for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and pray for it to come quickly. Only in this way will they be worthy for the Lord Jesus Christ to come, take them out of the world, and deliver them from all the great tribulations of the Time of the End.
At the time Mr. Joshua proclaimed that prophecy, many current events had occurred or were occurring that aligned with the prophecies in the Holy Scriptures. This indicated that the time might have come for the prophecies concerning the Lord’s coming to the Church and the end times to be fulfilled. Mr. Joshua announced that the Lord would come on September 23–24, 2025, during the Feast of Trumpets, but he also made it clear that even so, the Lord Jesus assured him that no one knows the exact day or hour of His coming within those two days.
That is why Mr. Joshua’s message was easily accepted by many people, because it did not contradict the Holy Scriptures.
Regrettably, the Feast of Trumpets 2025 has passed. Mr. Joshua’s prophecy that the Lord Jesus would come on September 23–24, 2025, did not come to pass. Many people, relying on the standards and laws of the Holy Scriptures, condemned Mr. Joshua as a false prophet.
According to the Holy Scriptures, there are two types of false prophets:
1. The first type is a person who, on their own, claims to speak in the name of the Lord but delivers false prophecy, seeking the admiration of others, or intimidating others for some purpose, or to make others unaware of certain events. God has condemned such false prophets.
“when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.” (Deuteronomy 18:22)
Deuteronomy 18:20 pronounces death upon this type of false prophet.
2. The second type is a person deceived by Satan, causing them to speak in the name of the Lord, delivering false prophecy to serve Satan’s purposes.
“And the prophet, if he is deceived, and he speaks a word, I, the Self-Existing and Eternal One, have deceived that prophet. And I will stretch out My hand on him and will destroy him from the midst of My people Israel.” (Ezekiel 14:9 – A Literal Translation)
It is God Himself who will destroy such a false prophet.
Dear Church,
In last week’s sermon [1], we posed the question: “If the Lord Jesus Himself wanted to reveal to mankind that He would come to take the Church out of the world during the Feast of Trumpets in 2025, who could say, ‘No’?”
This is because Mr. Joshua affirmed that the Lord Jesus had appeared and spoken to him:
“September 23 and 24, 2025, I will come to take My Church.”
If the Lord Jesus truly appeared and spoke this to Mr. Joshua, then his prophecy would be credible. But how can one know whether the spirit that appeared to Mr. Joshua was truly the Lord Jesus or Satan impersonating the Lord Jesus?
In the near-death experiences of many people, they report having seen and spoken with the Lord Jesus. They say that He allowed them to be revived in order to preach about the Lord Jesus so that many people could come to know Him, or that the Lord Jesus used them to call humanity to repentance. However, there are details in these visions that show us they did not actually encounter the Lord Jesus. The spirit they saw in the visions was Satan impersonating the Lord Jesus. This spirit either claimed to be “Jesus” or influenced the minds of those people so that they would believe the spirit before them was “Jesus.”
The Word of God clearly states:
“And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 11:14)
The Word of God also calls Satan “the god of this age”:
“whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them” (2 Corinthians 4:4).
Remember, when Satan tempted the Lord Jesus, he promised to give Him all the kingdoms of the world. This is because, after humanity sinned, the world temporarily fell under Satan’s rule.
Moreover, in the world, there are countless people named “Jesus” in various languages.
Therefore, Satan impersonating the Lord Jesus and claiming to be “Jesus” is neither difficult nor forbidden.
Since the Lord Jesus ascended, no one has seen Him, so how can anyone know whether the spirit appearing in someone’s dream or vision is truly the Lord Jesus? There is only one way: to compare everything the spirit says with the Word of God.
It is the Word of God that teaches us not to trust every spirit and to test the spirits.
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that[fn] Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.” (1 John 4:1-3)
[In the original Greek of the Holy Scriptures, the noun “Spirit” carries different nuances depending on the use of the definite article. When used without the definite article, it often refers to spiritual power, knowledge, or understanding, that is, the faculties of spiritual thought and insight. When used with the definite article, it generally refers to a specific spiritual being, such as God the Holy Spirit, angels, or the spirit of a human.
Regrettably, English translations of the Bible do not always convey this distinction accurately. They often use the definite article in both cases, which can lead readers to confuse general spiritual force or understanding with a specific spiritual being.]
Spirit (without a definite article) is the understanding of the mind, including knowledge that comes from God, not from experience or study, and is different from all the knowledge we acquire in the world. For those without the Lord, they may acquire knowledge from Satan and evil spirits. Some even boast that they “know the depths of Satan” (Revelation 2:24). Perhaps these are people who specialize in sorcery. God’s people cannot trust every spirit, because some spirits come from Satan.
Spirits (with the definite article) include any spirit that appears to humans in dreams or visions. Even if the spirit claims to be “Jesus” or claims to be an angel of God, God’s people must use the Word of God to test it.
According to statistics, there are many people in the world who have had near-death experiences, that is, experiences of dying and coming back to life. The estimated rate is 5–10% of the population, which means approximately 400–800 million people have had near-death experiences.
Many of them have recounted visions during their near-death experiences. They report that, while dying, they met the Lord Jesus, were taken to heaven, were brought down to the underworld or hell, and so on. In the end, each person claims that the Lord Jesus they saw sent them back to life to preach about Him or to warn the world to live in love and righteousness.
We do not have much time to go deeply into this topic here. I mention near-death experiences to say that I have watched videos or read testimonies of hundreds of people who had such experiences. Yet I have never encountered a single testimony that is trustworthy when comparing what they claimed with the Word of God.
They truly did die and come back to life. They truly encountered a spirit that they mistakenly believed was the Lord Jesus in a vision. But it was a false Jesus. It was Satan’s deception, because the words of that spirit did not align with the Word of God.
In the case of Mr. Joshua, although he is a believer, I think he was deceived by Satan. Satan impersonated the Lord Jesus and appeared to him in a vision. The big question arises: why would the Lord allow a believer to be deceived by Satan?
I do not personally know Mr. Joshua, nor do I know the details of the times he saw a spirit appear and speak to him, which he called the Lord Jesus. Therefore, I cannot answer that question specifically based on his personal circumstances. But if the question is answered objectively, based on the Word of God, I can analyze it through the following cases.
1. The first case: I do not think that Mr. Joshua intentionally fabricated a prophecy like those mentioned in Deuteronomy 18:22. That is, he is not like the many who claim to be prophets online—arrogant, self-important, speaking in the name of the Lord, and offering one prophecy after another that never comes to pass. Those people flaunt their degrees, positions, and titles, using the name of the Lord to deceive others for personal gain. Mr. Joshua openly admitted that he is not a prophet and holds no office in the Church, except for once being assigned by a local Church as an assistant pastor, a position he did not hold for long.
2. The second case: Even though Mr. Joshua did not claim to be a prophet, when he spoke in the name of the Lord to declare that the Lord had told him He would come to take the Church out of the world on September 23–24, 2025, he was performing the work of a prophet.
Because Mr. Joshua performed the work of a prophet—speaking in the name of the Lord and proclaiming to the world what he claimed was the Word of God—when that word did not come to pass, he was still categorized as a false prophet.
Now we can affirm that the spirit Mr. Joshua saw repeatedly in his dreams and visions was not the Lord Jesus. For in the mouth of the Lord Jesus there is no deceit (1 Peter 2:22). He cannot repeatedly appear to Mr. Joshua or anyone else to speak false words, especially concerning the hope and well-being of the Church.
Mr. Joshua was deceived by Satan, causing him to speak prophecies that did not come to pass, as the Lord spoke of in Ezekiel 14:9:
“And the prophet, if he is deceived, and he speaks a word, I, the Self-Existing and Eternal One, have deceived that prophet. And I will stretch out My hand on him and will destroy him from the midst of My people Israel.” (Ezekiel 14:9 – A Literal Translation)
“And the prophet, if he is deceived” means being deceived by an evil spirit, possibly by Satan himself. The Scriptures call Satan the father of lies (John 8:44). In a case of deception on a global scale like this, Satan must have acted personally.
“And he speaks a word” refers to speaking any prophecy under that deception. A prophecy spoken under deception cannot come to pass and only causes stumbling and harm to God’s people.
“I, the Self-Existing and Eternal One, have deceived that prophet” means that God Himself actively allowed the devil to deceive the prophet. He acts this way because He knows the prophet is not righteous. God gives the prophet an opportunity to reveal their evil nature and improper desires.
“And I will stretch out My hand on him” means that God will punish the one who has been deceived yet continues to speak false words.
“And will destroy him from the midst of My people Israel.” means that God removes the false prophet to protect His people.
God allows a person to be deceived by an evil spirit because that person is inherently wicked and growing worse over time. From the outside, they may appear to be good—religious, devout, faithful to the Lord, zealous in doing good, and serving God’s work. But deep within their soul, known only to God and themselves, lies great pride—so great that they unconsciously set themselves up as their own god.
In this world, there are countless people who constantly say, “Lord! Lord!” They frequently speak in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to prophesy, cast out demons, or even perform various signs and miracles. Yet the Lord Jesus does not know them, and He calls them evildoers (Matthew 7:22). Such people are easily exploited—or even possessed—by Satan, who uses them to carry out his will.
God actively permits such people to be deceived by evil spirits according to the spirits’ desires and the pride of the human heart. He does not act directly nor incite the evil spirits, because the Word of God clearly teaches:
“Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.” (James 1:13)
The reason God allows deception to occur is to give the wicked an opportunity to reveal their evil, especially those who are extremely proud yet do not recognize their pride.
In the Time of the End, God will also allow many people to follow the Antichrist, receive its mark, and be eternally lost. All of these people merely want to live a life of sinful freedom, rebelling against God’s commandments.
“And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12)
In other words, God presents humanity with two choices: either to repent of sin, believe in God’s salvation, and live a holy and righteous life, or to follow their sinful nature and satisfy every desire. Every person is given the freedom to choose by God—to stand with Him or to stand against Him.
Specifically, in the case of Mr. Joshua proclaiming that the Lord Jesus Christ would come during the Feast of Trumpets 2025, Satan’s forces immediately mobilized thousands of people to support his proclamation. The devil brought dreams and visions to them to “confirm” the proclamation. Thus, it becomes even clearer that this was a major scheme of Satan. Surely God knew about it and allowed everything to happen in this way, because He has His own purpose.
3. The third case: Mr. Joshua is not a wicked person but a victim of Satan, and God allowed this to happen.
We know very well about Job. He was a man who lived in happiness because of his faith in God and his reverence for Him. God blessed him greatly, making him wealthy in material possessions, honored in reputation, and the father of ten children—seven sons and three daughters. He was the greatest among all the people of the East. God testified well of Job before the angels and before Satan.
When Satan heard God’s testimony about Job, he immediately spoke up, claiming that Job only feared God because God had blessed him. But if God allowed harm to come to Job, he would surely curse God. God allowed Satan full authority to harm Job, but He did not permit harm to come to Job’s body.
Satan then carried out attacks against Job all in one day. Job chapter 1 lists the calamities that Satan brought upon Job in that single day:
- The oxen and donkeys were taken away by the Sabeans, and the servants who tended them were all killed, with only one survivor returning to report to Job.
- Fire from heaven fell and burned up all the sheep, and the servants who tended them were all killed, with only one survivor returning to report to Job.
- The camels were taken by the Chaldeans, and the servants who tended them were all killed, with only one survivor returning to report to Job.
- All ten of Job’s children, who were feasting in the house of the eldest, were killed when the house collapsed.
Upon receiving the tragic news, Job rose, tore his robe, shaved his head, and fell to the ground in worship of God. He spoke a memorable statement:
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return. The Self-Existing and Eternal One gave, and the Self-Existing and Eternal One has taken away; blessed be the name of the Self-Existing and Eternal One!” (Job 1:21 – A literal translation)
God testified concerning Job:
“In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.” (Job 1:22)
However, Satan was still not satisfied. Therefore, God allowed Satan to touch Job’s body. He afflicted Job with a malignant disease, from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head, forcing him to sit in ashes and scrape himself with a piece of broken pottery. Satan also used Job’s wife to urge him to curse God and die. Yet Job did not sin.
Eventually, three of Job’s close friends came to visit him, but a theological debate ensued. They argued that calamity and suffering only happen to the guilty. Therefore, in their view, Job must have secretly sinned and needed to repent.
Although the Bible does not explicitly confirm it, it is very likely that Satan used Job’s three friends to attack him spiritually. Meanwhile, the friends believed they were doing good, helping Job recognize his supposed sin so he would repent. They continuously pressured Job, taking turns to push him into despair or resentment toward God. Had Job accepted their arguments, he might have sinned. However, Job did not sin, because all that happened was permitted by God. Job boldly declared:
“Whatever happens to me… Even if He slays me, I will still trust Him!” (Job 13:13, 15 – A literal translation)
In the end, even after God restored him, Job never knew that Satan was behind his suffering. He remained wholly faithful to God, completely entrusting his life and death into God’s hands, fully accepting everything God allowed to happen to him.
Besides the bold statement mentioned earlier, Job left the world two other remarkable sayings:
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return. The Self-Existing and Eternal One gave, and the Self-Existing and Eternal One has taken away; blessed be the name of the Self-Existing and Eternal One!” (Job 1:21 – A literal translation)
“Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” (Job 2:10)
Dear Church,
Could it be that Mr. Joshua was also a person fully devoted to the Lord, and God allowed Satan to test him by appearing as the Lord Jesus, causing him to speak in God’s name and proclaim false words? I do not know. Up to this moment, I have not received any information about his reaction after September 24, 2025, to base any judgment upon.
However, regardless of what kind of person Mr. Joshua may be, the fact remains that the spirit who appeared to him was not the Lord Jesus. For God never acts contrary to His own nature to accomplish His purposes. God is omnipotent and has full authority to accomplish all that He wills. As for the meaning and purpose of God allowing the events concerning Mr. Joshua to occur in this short span of time, we cannot fully understand it.
Through the story of Job, we see that God allowed Satan to act with extreme severity to test the faith of His people. Yet God used the very trials to give Job an opportunity to demonstrate his faith in action. God, of course, knew Job’s faith, but He wanted Job to express it through deeds—before God, before both good and evil angels, and before humanity.
Everything in the world can only occur by God’s permission, even evil and harmful acts. Only then can humans truly exercise the freedom God has given them to choose to stand with Him or against Him. Only then can God’s judgment and reward be just. Yet God always ensures that even the worst events bring benefit to those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
The story of Job is living proof, and Job himself is a shining example of someone fully devoted to God, recognized by God.
For now, we can only rejoice and offer abundant thanks to God. For through this occasion, He has led many to His salvation, awakening many of His people who were lukewarm. At the same time, this event has hardened the hearts of those who were already unbelieving. But most importantly, God used this situation to remind His people that:
- The coming of the Christ is very near.
- The coming of the Christ may occur during the Feast of Trumpets.
- God’s people have the duty to observe current events and compare them with His Word to discern that the day of the Christ’s coming is approaching, remaining faithful in the fellowship of the Church, according to the command of the Holy Spirit in Hebrews 10:25: “Not neglecting to meet together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
- From now on, do not listen to anyone claiming in God’s name that He will come on a specific day, but live each day ready to depart with the Christ.
- Whenever the Feast of Trumpets arrives, rejoice and be ready to depart with the Christ.
- Use the time, strength, and resources God has given to preach the Gospel so that many may be saved, especially those in your own family.
- Strive to maintain love and unity within the Church. Remember the judgment of the Lord Jesus Christ on those who believe in Him during the End Times yet show no love for their fellow believers (Matthew 25:31-46).
Specifically, for our Church in Vietnam, God has used this event to grant us a great revival. I would like to quote a portion of the reflections and sharing that I sent to the Church on Telegram @Walking with the Lord.
“Thank God, our Loving Father. By His great mercy, He has destined a great and comprehensive revival for our Church in Vietnam.
Because of our faith in and obedience to the Lord, we have received this revival.
It is a comprehensive revival of the Church because:
1. God’s people within the Church have been revived.
2. God’s people who had been cut off from fellowship have also been revived and returned to God’s salvation.”
Because the Church has submitted to my pastoral guidance, stemming from our faith in the Lord, and has together prepared to await the return of the Christ during this year’s Feast of Trumpets. Because I submitted to the leading of the Holy Spirit in receiving the message from Mr. Joshua, guiding the Church to prepare for the Christ’s coming, we have received the comprehensive revival that God had predestined for us.
I submitted to the leading of the Holy Spirit, received the message from Mr. Joshua, and shared it with the Church, even though in the past I had never trusted anyone who proclaimed the day of the Christ’s coming. This was because the content of the message did not contradict God’s Word and also aligned with the understanding God had given me regarding the coming of the Christ, when the Holy Spirit touched my heart for me to compile the sermon “Feast of Trumpets and the Blessed Hope.” [2]
The Church submitted to me because they believed that I am the shepherd God has given to the Church and for whom they continually intercede in prayer. It would be very strange if one were to doubt or disobey the teaching of someone they trust as the shepherd God has appointed and for whom they pray, especially when the teaching does not contradict God’s Word.
It is precisely because of the obedience of both myself and the Church that we have received the grace of revival that God had prepared for us since the foundation of the world. Praise God.”
. . .
“Dear Church,
Every revival involves three inseparable steps:
1. God grants it.
2. The Church receives it.
3. The Church implements it.
When all three steps are completed, the revival is complete and produces good fruits that remain for eternity.
Steps 1 and 2 have been fulfilled. Now, we together begin the third step. For this reason, the Lord moved in my spirit this morning while I was standing in the shower, telling me to open the Telegram room @Walking with the Lord as a place for God’s people to daily share their hearts, give encouragement, pray for one another, and offer advice, counsel, and comfort to each other along the spiritual journey toward the Kingdom of Heaven.
In obedience to the Holy Spirit, today I officially open the Telegram room @Walking with the Lord and sincerely invite God’s people to participate and fellowship together in this space.”
. . .
“May our Loving Father God use this room to grant us the spiritual blessings that He has predestined for us. We thank Him. May all glory, honor, and authority forever belong to Him. Amen!”
A child of God shared with me as follows:
“Sir! I think that if we consider the Word of God strictly according to the letter, we might become rigid like the Pharisees. But if we consider the Word of God based on God’s love and mercy, we will more readily receive a message from God, no matter who delivers it.”
I responded:
“There is one key principle: there must be evidence when evaluating an event.
1. Before September 24, 2025, no one had any evidence that Mr. Joshua was wrong, other than the argument that no one knows the day or hour. But people did not consider that precisely because no one knows the day or hour, it might be the time when the Lord Himself would reveal it. In fact, Mr. Joshua confirmed that the “Lord” spoke to him, and even though He would come on the 23rd–24th, no one would know the exact day or hour.
Therefore, there was no reason not to accept his message.
2. After September 24, 2025, it was clear that Mr. Joshua’s proclamation did not come to pass. That is the most significant evidence and is sufficient to conclude that the spirit appearing to him and speaking was not the Lord. However, it cannot be said that he is a false prophet, because he never claimed to be a prophet.
3. The question then is: why could Mr. Joshua be deceived by Satan, even though he is a child of God?”
I pray that the Lord will use the words I have shared in this message to help answer any questions you may have regarding Mr. Joshua’s proclamation about the Lord Jesus coming during the 2025 Feast of Trumpets and the fact that it did not come to pass.
I borrow the words of an online user to conclude here:
“If Joshua is deceiving everyone, I believe it is better to be deceived in order to repent, become holy, and be ready, rather than to be deceived into indulgence and unpreparedness.
The essence of Joshua’s message is to prepare for the imminent Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Dear friends, let us prepare together for the Rapture of the Saints. You will lose nothing if you prepare, but you will lose everything if you do not.“
May the Word of God sanctify us and strengthen us. May we all stand firm in faith and remain faithful to the Lord until the day Christ returns. May the love, grace, and fellowship of the Triune God, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, cover all of you. Amen!

About Using “God” or “the God” and “holy spirit”
Wherever the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts of the Bible uses a definite article with a noun to denote GOD, we translate it into English as “*God” or “the God” to refer to God the Father. We understand that “God,” without a definite article, was used as a collective noun for all and any of the three Persons of the Godhead. And “God,” with a definite article, was used to refer to God the Father.
In the Greek manuscripts of the New Testament, the term “holy spirit” (πνευματι αγιω) without the definite article “the” (το) is used to denote the power of God, which is given by God the Holy Spirit. “The Holy Spirit” (το πνευματι το αγιω) is God, and “holy spirit” (πνευματι αγιω) is the power that comes from God.
