All the Bible verses quoted in this article are from the King James Version, unless otherwise noted

Matthew 8:28-34

28 And when He was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met Him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with Thee, Jesus, Thou Son of *God? art Thou come hither to torment us before the time?

30 And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.

31 So the devils besought Him, saying, If Thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.

32 And He said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.

33 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.

34 And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw Him, they besought Him that he would depart out of their coasts.

Mark 5:1-20

1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

2 And when He was come out of the ship, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped Him,

7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with Thee, Jesus, Thou Son of the most high *God? I adjure Thee by *God, that Thou torment me not.

8 For He said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

9 And He asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

10 And he besought Him much that He would not send them away out of the country.

11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

12 And all the devils besought Him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.

15 And they come to Jesus, and see Him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.

17 And they began to pray Him to depart out of their coasts.

18 And when He was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed Him that he might be with Him.

19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

Luke 8:26-39

26 And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.

27 And when He went forth to land, there met Him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with Thee, Jesus, Thou Son of *God most high? I beseech Thee, torment me not.

29 (For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)

30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

31 And they besought Him that He would not command them to go out into the deep.

32 And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought Him that He would suffer them to enter into them. And He suffered them.

33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

34 When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.

35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.

37 Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought Him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and He went up into the ship, and returned back again.

38 Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought Him that he might be with Him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,

39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things *God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

In this lesson, we will study together how the Lord Jesus healed two demon-possessed men in Gadara. This event was recorded by Matthew, Mark, and Luke. However, while Matthew recorded that there were two demon-possessed men, Mark and Luke recorded that there was one demon-possessed man. While Matthew mentioned “the country of the Gergesenes,” Mark and Luke mentioned “the country of the Gadarenes.” Critics of the Bible have pointed to these two details to claim that the Bible contradicts itself.

First, regarding the terms “the country of the Gergesenes” and “the country of the Gadarenes,” when we refer to historical records, we find that during the time of the Lord Jesus, the country of the Gergesenes was Gergesa, including the country of the Gadarenes, which is the city of Gadara and its country sides. Gergesa (also called Gergasa) was the name of a large area, like the name of a province or a district, while Gadara was the name of a city within that area, like the name of a town within a province or a district. Similarly, when we say, “The Lord Jesus was born in Judea,” and also say, “The Lord Jesus was born in Bethlehem,” both statements are correct and not contradictory.

Gadara was one of ten cities located along the eastern side of the Jordan River. These ten cities were collectively referred to in Greek as the Decapolis (deca = ten; polis = city). However, the Lord Jesus did not heal the demon-possessed men in the city of Gadara but in a small village on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, within the region of Gadara.

Next, regarding the fact that Matthew recorded there were two demon-possessed men while Mark and Luke recorded there was one, we understand that Matthew, being an apostle and eyewitness to the event, accurately noted that there were two demon-possessed men healed by the Lord. In contrast, Mark and Luke recorded the account based on the reports of others, who focused on the man who directly spoke with the Lord. Moreover, Mark and Luke did not state that “only one man was demon-possessed.”

We also see that Mark and Luke recorded more details than Matthew. This is because they included observations and additional information provided by their sources.

Contrary to accusations that the Bible contradicts itself and is therefore unreliable, we find that the Bible faithfully records the events that occurred and accurately reflects the perspectives, comments, and opinions of the narrators.

“The other side” refers to the shore of the Sea of Galilee within the region of Gadara, opposite the city of Capernaum, where the Lord Jesus and His disciples had set out. The distance by water, as the crow flies, is approximately 20 km.

“Gergesa” is the name of the area that includes the city of Gadara. Matthew recorded the name of the entire region, while Mark and Luke recorded the name of a city within that region where the event occurred. The city of Gadara is about 9 kilometers away from the shore of the Sea of Galilee. The shoreline where the two demon-possessed men met the Lord Jesus was a wild area with many ancient tombs.

“A demon-possessed person” is someone into whom an evil spirit, which is a fallen angel, has entered, causing ailments such as muteness and deafness (Mark 9:25) or making the person perform abnormal actions. The two demon-possessed men of Gadara were very fierce and strong due to the influence of the evil spirits possessing them. They had been possessed for a long time, wore no clothes, and lived among the tombs. They likely attacked others frequently, so no one dared to pass by that area because no one was strong enough to resist them. We do not know what they ate; perhaps their families brought them food.

Tombs are places where the dead are buried and are considered unclean by the Bible because they symbolize the punishment for disobeying God. Demons, or fallen angels, prefer to dwell in places with tombs, possibly because, to them, tombs symbolize Satan’s success in corrupting humanity, which God created in His image and likeness. People often say that places with tombs have a lot of “yin energy.” It is very likely that this “yin energy” is the presence of many evil spirits.

Mark 5:3-6

3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped Him,

Mark recorded the event with the most detail. It is possible that the narrators who told the story to Mark provided more details than those who narrated to Luke. It could also be that Mark compiled the accounts from multiple people, each of whom focused on the most violent demon-possessed man.

Verses 3 and 4 seem contradictory, but in reality, verse 4 explains verse 3. No one could bind the demon-possessed man, even with chains, because he was too strong. Many times, when bound with shackles and chains, he would break the chains and smash the shackles into pieces. Thus, no one was strong enough to subdue him.

The verb “bind” (G1210) means to tie up or restrain, especially using chains.

The noun “chains” (G254) refers to multiple metal loops linked together to form a chain.

The noun “fetters” (G3976) refers to any object that can be attached to a person’s leg to restrict movement and prevent them from running. The fettersmentioned in this context were likely two pieces of wood with holes, clamped around each ankle, and locked together. These fetters were connected by a short chain, allowing the person to take only very short steps but not run.

The demon-possessed man was given strength by the demons to break the chains and shatter the fetters. He lived among the tombs and in the mountains. The evil spirits tormented him, causing him to cry out night and day and to cut himself with stones, inflicting self-harm.

Verse 6 implies that when the demons within the man saw the Lord Jesus, they caused the man to run to Him, bow down, and worship Him. This indicates that the demons worshipped the Lord Jesus through the man’s body.

Those who deny the divinity of the Lord Jesus argue that this was merely a gesture of respect, not worship. However, in the 60 instances where the New Testament uses this term (G4352), it always refers to worship. According to the Bible, worship is the act of humbling oneself before God to show obedience and glorify Him, as He is the Creator of all things and holds authority over them all. Therefore, worship is reserved solely for God. Even though demons act against God’s law, they must still worship Him when confronted with His presence.

Matthew 8:29

29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with Thee, Jesus, Thou Son of God? art Thou come hither to torment us before the time?

Mark 5:7-8

7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with Thee, Jesus, Thou Son of the most high *God? I adjure thee by *God, that Thou torment me not.

8 For He said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

Luke 8:28-29

28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with Thee, Jesus, Thou Son of God most high? I beseech Thee, torment me not.

29 (For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)

The demons worshipped the Lord Jesus because they recognized Him as God and Savior (the meaning of the name Jesus). They acknowledged that in His human form, the Lord Jesus is “the Son of the Most High *God.” During the time of the Lord Jesus, although the demons, including Satan, recognized Him as the Son of *God and God the Word incarnate, they did not yet understand the purpose of His incarnation. It was only after Christ’s resurrection that they comprehended this truth.

We can understand that countless demons are present everywhere in the world. For thousands of years, they have heard many sermons about God and the Bible, especially since the resurrection of Christ and the establishment of the Church. Then, the letters of Paul were written, and finally, the Book of Revelation was written by the Apostle John, which has given the demons a fairly comprehensive understanding of the Gospel and the future world.

Because these demons have been present in the world for thousands of years, they know the habits and preferences of each person, enabling them to present subtle and fitting temptations.

The phrase “What have we to do with Thee,” or “What have I to do with Thee” is an idiom. It is a phrase commonly used by the Israelites with a similar meaning to a Vietnamese idiom: “If the river water does not offend the well water, then the well water should not offend the river water!” It means that if I do not bother or harm you, then you should not bother or harm me. The Lord Jesus Himself used this idiom when speaking to Mary at the wedding in Cana (John 2:4).

The demons were implying that they had not interfered with the Lord Jesus or hindered His ministry, so they asked Him to leave them alone, as it was not yet time for their ultimate punishment. However, this was a deceitful argument, a lie, as demons often do. In reality, when demons enter a person, they violate God’s order of creation, which He established with each species according to its kind. God did not create angels with physical bodies of flesh. When a demon enters a human body without the person’s consent, it commits a grave sin.

Genesis 6 recorded the event where many rebellious angels entered men to marry women, corrupting the lineage of the woman (Genesis 3:15), leading God to destroy the entire world with the Great Flood, except for eight people in Noah’s family. All the rebellious angels who entered humans at that time were imprisoned in the bottomless pit, as mentioned in 1 Peter 3:19-20, 2 Peter 2:4, and Revelation 9:2-11.

Perhaps the leading demon among those in the victim’s body spoke up, conversing with the Lord Jesus. After the Lord Jesus commanded the demon to leave the victim, it earnestly pleaded with Him not to torment it. This plea was urgent, invoking the name of *God. The Israelites had a habit of invoking *God’s name in their speech to express determination, sincerity, and urgency. The demon followed this practice as well. Although the demon’s plea was for itself, it implied concern for the other demons under its authority.

Through the demon’s plea, we understand that it knew the punishment reserved for demons who unlawfully entered humans, yet it did not want to be cast into the abyss.

The storyteller for Luke clearly narrated the details of the extraordinary power granted by the demon to the victim, enabling him to break free from his bonds. The demon controlled the victim to distance himself from family and human society, choosing to live in wild places, especially among the tombs. The phrase “for oftentimes it had caught him” implies that many times the demon acted through the victim’s physical body, completely taking control of it. This included causing the victim to cry out night and day and to bruise himself with stones.

Occurrences of demonic possession in humans continue until the end times, when the Lord Jesus will confine all sinful angels, including Satan, to the abyss in the underworld. We see that in the world, more and more people are being held captive by demons, committing extremely evil deeds. Particularly those who worship Satan willingly allow demons to possess their physical bodies in exchange for wealth and fame in the world. Certainly, many in positions of power in governments and celebrities in the music, film, and sports industries have sold themselves to Satan, accepting demonic possession of their bodies.

Mark 5:9

9 And He asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

Luke 8:30

30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

Only Mark and Luke record the event where the Lord Jesus asked the name of the demon and its reply. Perhaps at that time Matthew was occupied with something else and not present to hear this exchange, so he did not record it. If this is the case, then we understand that Matthew completely wrote the Gospel of Matthew based on his own memory as a witness. He did not rely on the accounts of others, except for events that occurred before he followed the Lord.

According to the narrative recorded by Mark, the Lord Jesus asked the demon who was begging him, and the answer was from the demon. Whereas according to the narrative recorded by Luke, the Lord Jesus asked the person possessed by the demon, and the answer was from that person.

We can understand that, at the same time, the Lord Jesus asked both the demon and the person possessed by it. Both the demon and the possessed person responded. The demon revealed its name as “Legion” because there were many demons under its authority. This answer was recorded by Mark. The person possessed by the demon revealed his name as “Legion,” indicating that many demons had entered him. This answer was recorded by Luke.

The noun “legion” is a military term in Greek, used to refer to a military unit of the Roman army at that time. A Roman legion consisted of 6,826 soldiers, including 6,100 infantry and 726 cavalry.

We have learned that there are cases where seven demons possess a person simultaneously, such as in the case of Mary Magdalene (Mark 16:9; Luke 8:2). However, having over 6,000 demons possess someone is a terrifying and difficult-to-understand phenomenon. Many people find it hard to believe that thousands of demons can enter a human body. Yet perhaps the Bible recorded this case to illustrate that many demons can indeed enter a person’s body. Jewish theologians still puzzle over the riddle: How many angels can stand on the head of a pin? This implies that in the human mind, there is a perception that the laws of the spiritual world are vastly different from the laws of the physical world. If many people accept the theory of the Big Bang as the origin of the universe, then it is not unreasonable to consider that many angels can concentrate their presence on the head of a pin. Depending on the size of the pin, its head can contain hundreds to thousands of atoms. It is entirely possible that in the spiritual realm, angels have the ability to compress their spiritual bodies as small as an atom or even smaller.

It is worth recalling the essence of the Big Bang theory. According to modern cosmological models based on Albert Einstein’s theory of general relativity, the Big Bang originated from a singular point of immense density and gravitational force. This primal singularity had no size or spatial dimensions. It was merely a dimensionless point. Within this singularity were all the matter and spacetime of the observable universe in an extremely compressed and hot state. At the onset of the Big Bang (approximately 13.8 billion years ago), this singularity began rapidly expanding in all directions, leading to the formation of our universe.

In summary, the singularity that led to the Big Bang, according to theory, was dimensionless at the initial moment before rapidly expanding from that infinitesimally small point. The exact nature of this initial state remains an open question for quantum gravity theories to resolve.

Of course, we do not subscribe to the Big Bang theory but rather believe in Genesis 1. However, mentioning the concept of a dimensionless singularity in human thought to form the Big Bang theory serves to demonstrate that within the human mind, there is knowledge from God. This knowledge helps humanity partially understand the marvels and laws of the spiritual world. If in the physical world there exists a dimensionless singularity encompassing the entire universe, then countless demons could also potentially enter the fleshly bodies of humans.

Matthew 8:30-32

30 And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.

31 So the devils besought Him, saying, If Thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.

32 And He said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.

Mark 5:10-13

10 And he besought Him much that He would not send them away out of the country.

11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

12 And all the devils besought Him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

Luke 8:31-33

31 And they besought Him that He would not command them to go out into the deep.

32 And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought Him that He would suffer them to enter into them. And He suffered them.

33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

“And he besought Him much” means that the demon earnestly pleaded with the Lord many times.

The demon not only did not want to go into the abyss but also did not want to leave that region. It had become accustomed to living among the ancient tombs there.

Not only the chief demon, but all the demons possessing the victim pleaded with the Lord Jesus not to command them to go into the abyss. They asked Him for permission to enter a nearby herd of pigs. The Lord Jesus granted their request. The demons came out of the man and entered the herd of about two thousand pigs. The herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned, demonstrating the large number of demons. There were at least several demons entering each pig. Such a sudden possession terrified the herd, causing them to run wildly into their deaths. In other words, the herd went berserk, acting contrary to their nature.

Matthew and Mark used the local term “Sea of Galilee” as familiar to the local people because it is a very large lake. Luke, on the other hand, used the precise term “Lake of Galilee.”

Some people believe that when the Lord Jesus allowed the demons to enter the herd of pigs, causing the pigs to die, He damaged the interests of the owners. We can believe that everything the Lord Jesus does is just and fair. Therefore, it is possible that the owners acquired the herd of pigs through unjust means, and that unjust possession was taken from them.

Furthermore, we all clearly understand that in the reality of life, *God has allowed many evils to occur, and countless innocent people have been harmed by wicked individuals. Since ancient times, innocent children have been sacrificed by their parents to idols without *God’s intervention (Psalm 106:38). We also recall that *God allowed Satan to simultaneously kill Job’s ten children. Throughout the history of the Church, *God has allowed wicked people to persecute His people. Tens of millions, perhaps hundreds of millions, of God’s people in the Church have sacrificed their lives to uphold faith, starting with the martyrdom of Stephen (Acts 7:59-60). There are many things that we do not understand today. We only need to believe that *God is loving and just. He will bring everything to a just conclusion with His great mercy over all creation in due time.

Matthew 8:33-34

33 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.

34 And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw Him, they besought Him that He would depart out of their coasts.

Mark 5:14-17

14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.

15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.

17 And they began to pray Him to depart out of their coasts.

Luke 8:34-37

34 When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.

35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.

37 Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought Him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and He went up into the ship, and returned back again.

When the herd of about two thousand pigs rushed headlong into the water and drowned due to the demons possessing them, the herdsmen were terrified and fled. They ran into the nearby city, likely Gadara, about 9 kilometers away, and reported what had happened. Along the way to the city, they also spread the news among the people in the surrounding regions.

The people from the city and the countryside came together to see what had happened by the seaside. By that time, approximately four hours had passed. The distance of about 9 kilometers meant the herdsmen took about two hours to travel from the coast into the city, and the people from the city took about two hours to reach the seaside. However, the Lord Jesus was still sitting and conversing with the man who had been possessed by the demons. Perhaps by then, Jesus’s disciples had given clothes to the man, and his mind was restored.

To be “in his right mind” implies that the man was now talking sensibly and normally and had regained his original mental faculties. During the approximately four hours, he continued to sit at the Lord Jesus’s feet and converse with Him. Perhaps the Lord Jesus was sitting on a rock while the man sat on the ground beside Him, listening to His teaching.

“They that saw it” could include the Lord Jesus’s disciples and the local villagers who were present when the incident occurred.

The people of Gadara and the surrounding region, upon seeing the man who had been possessed by demons and had been healed of his violent behavior, were afraid. They knew that such a profound act required great power. Instead of rejoicing, they were filled with fear. Instead of inviting the Lord Jesus into their city to hear Him teach, they asked Him to leave their region. Perhaps because immediately, the Lord Jesus caused them economic loss by allowing the demons to enter the herd of pigs, causing them to become frantic and drown. They feared, not knowing what other losses the Lord Jesus might bring upon them. Therefore, they asked Him to leave their region.

Today, many recognize God as good; however, they are unwilling to abandon their sinful ways that they prefer in order to be accepted by Him. This is the greatest foolishness that a person can commit.

Because the people of Gadara and the surrounding region did not receive the Lord Jesus, He decided to get into the boat and return to Capernaum.

Mark 5:18-20

18 And when He was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed Him that he might be with Him.

19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

Luke 8:38-39

38 Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought Him that he might be with Him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,

39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things *God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

When the Lord Jesus boarded the boat to return to the city of Capernaum, the man who had been possessed by demons begged Him to allow him to stay with Him. However, the Lord Jesus refused because He had a specific purpose for that man. That purpose was for him to return to his own home and proclaim throughout his family all that *God had done for him through the Lord Jesus.

The man obeyed the Lord Jesus and returned, not only spreading the news among his relatives but also throughout the whole city and even the region of Decapolis, about all the great things that *God had done for him through the Lord Jesus, along with the great compassion of *God towards him.

The great things and the mercy that he received included being delivered from the fierce demons, being forgiven and taught by the Lord Jesus for about four hours, and being sent by the Lord Jesus as a witness for Him.

Everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus is sent by Him to various tasks. But the common goal remains to illuminate the glory of God and proclaim Him to all people. Thanks to the Triune God, we have been rescued from many vices and evils, which are sins, clothed in the glory of God, made sober and wise, understanding God through His Word, and sent by Him into this world.

We conclude this lesson here.

May the Holy Spirit guide us into all the truths of God’s Word (John 16:13). May the Word of God sanctify us (John 17:17). May the Faithful *God of Peace Himself sanctify our spirit, soul, and body entirely, without blame (1 Thessalonians 5:23), at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, our Beloved Savior. Amen!
