Prayer for Forgiveness

“O God! Please have mercy on me according to Your loving kindness. Please blot out my transgressions according to Your great compassion. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me” (Psalm 51:1-3).

In weakness, I stumbled, O Lord divine,
My soul stained with sin, no longer mine.
Remorse fills my heart as I kneel and pray,
Seeking Your grace to wash guilt away.

Your mercy, like a river, cleanses my core,
Love’s mystery opens heaven’s door.
My heart, once burdened, humbly receives,
The blessing You offer as my spirit believes.

Beloved Jesus, Your grace all I need,
Revive and forgive me, my footsteps You lead.
My heart ever hopeful, Your mercy I seek,
To strengthen my spirit when I am weak.

O Lord, Your grace stands unchanging and true,
Your love, my shield, sees me safely through.
Your Word I’ll follow throughout my days,
Accept me, O Lord, in Your joyful embrace.
