Poem: My Life Here

My Life Here

For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory to the ages! Amen.” (Romans 11:36).

In darkness wrapped, in sorrow’s veil,
Your arms reach out beyond the pale,
Beckoning me to find my way
Back home to where Your love holds sway.

Though true love’s taste eludes me still,
Your tender touch begins to fill
The empty spaces in my soul,
Drawing me near, making me whole.

To You alone I long to yield,
My joy in Your embrace revealed,
Soaked in the grace You freely pour—
Your love runs deeper than before.

My spirit yearns, forever more,
To dwell beside You, to explore
The depths of trust, untethered, free,
Surrendered to Your majesty.

Let all my days, from this time forth,
Rise like sweet incense from the earth—
A fragrant offering to Your throne,
My life lived for Your cause alone.

For Jesus only will I live,
Each breath a gift that I can give,
Until my journey here is done,
My heart and Yours forever one.

This poem is inspired by the words of the Vietnamese spiritual song “Cuộc Đời Con Đây”:

The translation of the lyric into English:
My Life Here

For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory to the ages! Amen.” (Romans 11:36).

My life here
is dark and full of sorrow.
Loved by You,
Your arms reach out, welcoming me home.
My life here
has yet to taste true love.
Loved by You,
tenderly, You draw me near.

My life here
I long to belong to You alone.
Loved by You,
joyfully, my soul is satisfied.
My life here
forever soaked in Your grace.
Your love for me
is deep, earnest, and vast.

My spirit ever longs
to be near You forevermore.
I surrender to the Lord alone.
I keep reminding myself
to follow the Lord without hesitation,
with full trust and love.

My life here,
the remaining days from now,
I pray will be
like fragrant offerings rising to You.
My life here
will be lived for You alone.
All my life here,
I long to belong to Jesus alone.
